Enjin releases Polkadot Parachain for gaming and NFTs

Enjin, the leading blockchain platform, has launched Efinity, the first parachain on the Polkadot network that is dedicated to non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

Being the first-ever NFT parachain on the Polkadot network, Efinity is set to be home to more than 100 blockchain-based games and applications. The first blockchain game Efinity will support is CryptoBlades, a play-to-earn NFT game with 1.1 million users. CryptoBlades is currently on five smart-contract blockchains, and Efinity is set to become the sixth.

In November, Enjin announced a $100 million investment to expand its Efinity metaverse. Last July, the platform raised $19 million in a private token sale led by Crypto.com Capital, DFG Group, and Hashed, followed by a $20 million public token sale through CoinList.

Enfinity was built purposely to remove the barriers to entry to NFTs and decentralized gaming. It provides a simplified user experience and economics of digital asset management. As the first gaming platform to boost NFT adoption on Ethereum and the creator of ERC-1155, Enjin is touting Efinity and Polkadot as the future generation of blockchain gaming.

Along with the Efinity announcement, Enjin also stated that it has plans to release beta versions of its NFT.io marketplace and Enjin Wallet app v2.0 by the end of the month.

According to a press release, Lost Relics, Dvision Network, SwissBorg, MyMetaverse, Age of Rust, and the PlayNFT Twitch plugin are among the confirmed projects that will be extending to Efinity.
